BANGALORE: HASC assured itself the top position in the Super Division football league. In a keenly-fought match HASC downed Southern Blues 1-0, Bimal Minz netting the all important goal in the 38th minute. With a match at hand against lowly Royals FC, the Aircraftmen thus far have tallied 35 points while BEML (EM) and MEG will fight it out for the second place. BEML, which has three games, at the most can finish with 37 points and a possible second place finish. Southern Blues tallied 14 points from 13 encounters. In another Super division match, ASC pummelled Oriental FC 5-0 with goals from Saurav Das (60th), Raghu Kumar (65th and 89th) and M.G. Ramachandran (73rd and 79th). ASC with this win has 16 points from 13 matches (four wins, four draw) while Oriental completed its engagements with 12 points (four wins). At the ITI grounds, Queen Star and ISRO played out a goalless C division league match. Both teams with 23 and 21 points, respectively, earned promotion to the ‘B’ division league in the next season. — Special Correspondent
