Health mela postponed

THENI: In protest against alleged ill treatment meted out to district-level health officers, doctors in almost all government hospitals attended duty with black badges on Friday. Health officials said that the issue was brought to the knowledge of Health Secretary.
They alleged that the Collector Har Sahay Meena “ill treated” health officers during a discussion over printing an invitation for a health mela function and sanctioning funds for development works.
They decided to take up the matter with the State doctors’ association and planned an agitation.
The Collector too seemed to have taken the matter to the attention of the Government. Meanwhile, a special health mela scheduled to be held on December 2 was postponed owing to the “row.”
