Reconditioned trucks hit market

MADURAI: Truck and heavy vehicle maker and the flagship company of the Hinduja group Ashok Leyland launched the ‘Altrux – quality pre-owned trucks’ here on Wednesday.
Under this initiative, pre-owned Ashok Leyland vehicles will be purchased, reconditioned and then sold through the outlets of T. V. Sundaram Iyengar and Sons.
The vehicles will carry a six month warranty, according to a press release. It has already been launched in Rajasthan and Kerala.
All reconditioned vehicles will have documents certifying its authenticity.
V.M. Hombali, special director, customer support group, Ashok Leyland, said, “buyers of pre-owned vehicles are assured of a quality product with good performance, service and original Leyparts spares. Our customers will have a ready buyer when they decide to dispose of their vehicles.”
The company was targeting to achieve 15 per cent of the market share over the next three years in the pre-owned vehicles business, the press release added.
