KOCHI: Twenty-four trainee officers of the 47th Assistant Commandant Course of the Coast Guard passed out of the portals of the ICGS Varuna on Friday morning. Inspector General Rajender Singh, Commander Coast Guard Region (East), was the chief guest. He reviewed the parade and presented the Sword of Honour and awarded trophies and book prizes to the winners. The 24-week afloat training commenced on June 18. During the period, the trainee officers were given extensive instructions and sea experience on general navigation, astro-navigation, communications and gunnery.
