Government move welcomed

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader S.R. Balasubramonian has welcomed the State Government’s directive warning of action against organisations supporting the LTTE. He hoped the police will not hesitate to take action against those taking out processions or conducting public meetings in support of the banned outfit.

On the Malaysian Minister Nazim Aziz’s criticism of Karunanidhi for writing to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking immediate action to end the crackdown on Tamils in that country, he said the Chief Minister had every right to seek protection for the Tamils.
