“Loan at 3 p.c. is Naidu’s poll stunt”

HYDERABAD: Minister for Rural Development G. Chinna Reddy has termed as ‘election stunt’ the promise made by TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu to give loans at 3 per cent interest for agriculture and 1 per cent interest for small farmers.

In a statement issued on Friday, Dr. Chinna Reddy asked TDP leaders to explain at the proposed public meetings what their government had done for the farmers in the last nine years. He said the TDP leaders were making false promises after realising the fact that they might not return to power if the farmers’ issues were not raised.
