Bhaskar takes honours in u-10 200m

HYDERABAD: Bhaskar of Government Boys High School (Kachiguda) clinched the honours in the boys under-10 200m event, clocking 32.10s, at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal corporation athletics meet here on Friday.

The results:

Men: 800m: 1. G. Laxman (Hyd 10K) 2:10:1s, 2. Balu (APP), 3. N. Ravi Kumar (APP); 200m: 1. Laxman (GCPE, Domalguda) 23.0s, 2. Souvik Roy (PG College Sec’bad), 3. Srisailam (APP).

Boys: Under-16: 800m: 1. K. Laxman (Govt. Boys HS, Kachiguda) 2:14.5s, 2. S. Dinesh Kumar (10K), 3.B. Krishna Prasad (10K); 200m: 1. K. Ramulu (Hyd) 25.7s, 2. Shabaz Ahmed (Hyd), 3. Khrithik (Hyd). SCR spikers win South Central Railway won the 54th All India railway volleyball championship, defeating East Coastal Railway in the final in Varanasi, according to information received.

Five SCR players — P.S. Sreekanth, G. Pradeep, Mahender Varma, S.S. Ashok, B.H. Sudarshan Varma — have been selected to represent Railways team in the Senior Nationals to be held in Jaipur from December 23 to January 1.

Gymkhana XI wins

Gymkhana XI defeated CPW-MCEME 3-0 in the preliminary round of the Susai memorial football tournament, organised by Shastri Soccer Club, at Trimulgherry Grounds here.

Pasha put Gymkhana ahead in the 31st minute off a pass from Vasu. In the second session, Eric scored the second goal off a fine solo effort before Rajesh completed the tally in the 66th minute.

Abhinav to lead

E. Abhinav Reddy will lead Hyderabad in the 28th Inter-District aquatics championship to be held in Visakhapatnam from December 2.
