VIJAYAWADA: Hyderabad girls posted victories over Khammam (2-0) and West Godavari (2-1) in the league encounters of the 29th State sub junior volleyball tournament here on Friday.

The results: Boys: Vizag bt Kurnool 2-0 (25-11, 25-18), Anantapur bt Chittoor 2-1 (17-25, 25-16, 15-10), Krishna bt East Godavari 2-0 (25-18, 25-13), Guntur bt Nizamabad 2-0 (25-11, 25-8), Kadapa bt Ranga Reddy 2-0 (25-17, 25-17), West Godavari bt Nellore 2-0 (25-11, 25-15), Khammam bt Vizianagaram 2-1 (23-25, 25-19, 15-8), Prakasam bt Srikakulam 2-1 (12-25, 29-27, 15-9), Mahaboobnagar bt Kurnool 2-1 (25-21, 20-25, 15 8), Medak bt Adilabad 2-0 (25-11, 25-15), Warangal bt Nalgonda 2-0 (25-20, 25-15).

Prasad slams century

R.L.V. Prasad’s 124 (14x4, 1x6) helped Andhra Loyola College score an emphatic 144-run victory over SS & N College (Narasaraopet) in the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate (inter-zonal) cricket tournament here on Friday.

The scores: ALC 249 in 39.4 overs (R.L.V. Prasad 124) bt SS & N College 105 in 26 overs (Vivek three for 21).

Goutham PS posts win

Goutham PS defeated Samvida Vidya Peeth by 22 runs in the Krishna District Cricket Association’s inter-school league tournament for the Nori Sivaramakrishna Memorial Trophy here on Friday.

The scores: Chaitanya (Gunadala) 79 in 20.1 overs (Mahesh five for 19) lost to SSTC 80 for two in 20 overs.

SRRZP HS 84 in 20 overs (K. Bhima Rao four for 16, Vamsykrishna three for 19) bt Sri Kakatiya HS 68 in 19.5 overs (K. Naresh four for 18). Goutham PS 88 in 30.2 overs (Phani four for 18) bt Samvida 66 in 22 overs (Mahendra six for 23, Harshit three for 15).

KDCA ‘B’ league

Twenty-six teams from Krishna District will take part in the annual KDCA ‘B’ division cricket league tournament for the Devineni Venkata Ramana- Praneetha Memorial Trophy, which begins at the IGMC stadium from Dec. 1.

The teams are divided into five groups, and the topper of each group will qualify for the super league. .
