Shalini Mishra holds awareness meeting for the applicants

Novel initiative: Manging Director of Rajiv Swagruha Corporation Shalini Mishra speaking at an awareness meet for applicants in Anantapur on Saturday, as Joint Collector T. Chiranjeevulu and Director Radhakrishna look on.

ANANTAPUR: The Rajiv Swagruha Corporation will soon take up construction of 960 flats with ground plus nine floors on ten acres of Government land adjacent to RDT Hospital on the outskirts of the district headquarters town.

This was stated by Shalini Mishra, Managing Director of Rajiv Swagruha Corporation (RSC), at an awareness meeting for the applicants of the Rajiv Swagruha scheme here on Saturday.

The flats will be affordable for the middle-class and will offer modern amenities. She said that 1,580 families have applied for the scheme in the town.

Construction of flats at Pochampalli near Hyderabad is through and the occupation of the flats by the beneficiaries is in progress, she said.

Similarly, construction is in progress near Chandanagar, Ms. Mishra said.

Townships

Steps are being taken to construct townships in every district under the scheme and the project monitoring unit offices are functionalised under the stewardship of the Joint Collectors, Ms. Mishra said.

The office of the district project manager will be set up in two-three weeks, Ms. Mishra said.

The first project in the district will be named ‘Anantha’ and it will have facilities like protected drinking water, electricity, telephone lines, parking, health club, gym, supply of cooking gas through pipeline, lifts, stand-by generators, wide black-top roads, among others, she explained.

In the second phase, another township will be developed for those who would wish to have independent houses either near Bukkaraya Samurdram or on Bellary Road by acquiring 250 acres.

The Rajiv Swagruha units will be available at 25 per cent lower price than the market rates.

The beneficiaries can monitor the quality of construction at every stage. On allotment of house/flat, the beneficiaries are required to pay 25 per cent of the unit cost in three months.

Price structure of flats would be announced soon and the beneficiaries need not have any doubts over quality of construction, Ms. Shalini Mishra said. The allotment of flats and plots will be made through lottery system.

Details of the scheme could also be seen on the website: http://rajivswagruhaap.gov.in.

Joint Collector T. Chiranjeevulu and others were also present.
