Speaking after inaugurating a campaign to create awareness among women about their rights here on Thursday, Mr. Paul said that women who were being harassed for dowry and experiencing domestic violence could approach the women’s grievance cell opened in the district police office compound for help.

Police-sponsored

The campaign has been organised by the Mahila Jagruti Sanchari Dal, set up by the Police Department.

“You can write about your problems on a postcard addressed to me. Steps will be taken to redress them at the earliest,” he said.

Support systems

Petitions

Additional Superintendent of Police D.C. Rajappa said that several women in rural areas, after attending the awareness campaign, had come forward to file petitions on problems faced by them.
