NCC Day observed

Solemn Promise: Members of the National Cadet Corps taking anti-dowry pledge in Pudukottai.

PUDUKOTTAI: The National Cadet Corps of H.H. The Rajah’s College and Government Higher Secondary School in Thirugokarnam celebrated NCC Day here recently.

Presiding over the function, Principal of the college K. Narayanasamy spoke on the relevance of the NCC movement in shaping the students’ character and developing their personality. The cadets developed a sense of discipline, courage and leadership qualities, he said.

The occasion was utilised to create awareness on road safety measures and the evils of dowry. Sub-Inspector Gunasekaran spoke on the importance of road safety rules, with thrust on the general tendency among students to flout safety norms. The principal administered anti-dowry pledge to the students.

The highlight of the function was the felicitation of cadets, who will participate in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
