SBT services likely to be hit

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has informed its customers that normal functioning of its branches and offices is likely to be affected on December 3 and 4 on account of a strike call by its employees and officers.

The employees’ unions in the bank are going on strike on December 3 and the officers’ unions on December 4, the SBT said in a press release on Saturday.

The unions are resorting to the strike in protest against the reported move on the part of the State Bank Group to merge with the State Bank of India its associate banks, including the SBT. The strike is nation-wide, covering all the associate banks.
