Bhattal’s car challaned

Una (H.P.): Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has been challaned for sporting beacon on her car in violation of model code of conduct, police said here on Saturday.

“As Ms. Bhattal’s cavalcade entered into the district at the Mehatpur inter-state barrier yesterday [on Friday], the policemen asked the car to stop since it was carrying a beacon and blowing a hooter,” said Superintendent of Police Atul Fulzele.

But none of the vehicles stopped forcing the police to challan Ms. Bhattal, the SP said.

Since the model code of conduct is in the force for the Himachal Pradesh Asssembly elections, it was wrong for her to sport a beacon atop her car in the hill state, Mr. Fulzele added. — PTI
