VISAKHAPATNAM: A new united forum (Ikya Sanghatana) of SC, ST, BC, Kapu and Minorities has come into being in the State with several of its leaders attending a meeting here on Saturday to discuss new polarisation of Bahujana castes. Addressing the gathering, Gospel for Unreached Millions (GUM) founder K.A. Paul assured of his support to the Ikya Sanghatana. He had been in touch with about 3,000 leaders of the oppressed and backward classes and held over 100 meetings during the past few months. “We will conduct similar meetings in Tirupati (Dec. 7), Vijayawada (Dec. 15) and Hyderabad (Dec. 22). These are not religious meetings and we have not invited any of the 10,000 pastors in the four north Andhra districts,” he said, adding he would tour the entire state in the next 18 months. He also announced that he would employ coordinators in all the 1,104 mandals in the State on a monthly salary of Rs.2,000 plus another Rs.4,000 or more by way of self-employment. These coordinators would help identify the jobless and jobs would be provided, he said. He denied he was starting any political party and exhorted the backward classes to vote for themselves to gain their share of power. State convenor A. Muralikrishna chaired the meeting held at the GUM auditorium on the day.
