CMP downs SWR
BANGALORE: Corps of Military Police downed South Western Railway (Hubli) 3-2 to finish on top of the ‘B’ division hockey league at the KSHA Stadium here on Saturday. S. Minj (18th), Kamal Horo (41st) and Geeta Ranjit Singh (46th) struck for CMP while Manjunath scored the loser’s goals. MEG Boys trounced Hassan HC 13-0 to finish second. Uday Bawa netted seven goals, including a hat-trick. Arun Kumar (2), Sanjay, Chamraj, Punith Minz and Vijay were the other scorers.
In an ‘A’ Division match, RBI overpowered Flying Hockey Club 5-2. Thanu Nanjappa and Kevin scored a brace each after Santosh put the bankmen ahead. Ashwin and Shankar scored for Flying HC.
