Bhubaneswar: Offering a feast of delightful programmes to dance lovers , the Konark festival has started at the famous Sun temple, about 60 km from here on Saturday. The five-day festival, inaugurated by Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, began with captivating Odissi recitals by artistes from GKCM Odissi Research Centre of Bhubaneswar. Odissi was followed by spellbinding Kathak performed by Bireshwar Gautam of Mumbai. The audience would be treated to thrilling Kathakali by Venkit and troupe from Kerala, besides Odissi by Kaisiki Dakshya Mashruwalla and group from Mumbai on Sunday. There would be Bharatnatyam by Geeta Chandran on December 3 and Mohini Attam by Shyamala Surendran of Kerala the following day, while Performing Art Centre of Imphal would present ‘Manipuri’ on December 5. - PTI
