‘Aaja Nachle’ stirs up a controversy

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit’s comeback film ‘Aaja Nachle’ ran into controversy over its title song and exhibitors are screening it by removing offending lyrics in all the 15-odd theatres in the twin cities from Saturday.

This follows instructions from Yash Raj Films to exhibitors on Friday night asking them to remove objectionable lyrics in the title song.

Activists of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) staged demonstrations in front of the theatres demanding that the State government impose ban on the movie.

Dalit organisations objected to a particular line which was extremely derogatory, BSP State media in-charge K. Vidyasagar Reddy said in a press release.
