Tamil journal’s 50th edition released

Pudukai Thendral , a hit with readers

PUDUKOTTAI: The 50th edition of Pudukai Thendral, a monthly journal, was released at a function organised by the Pudukottai Ilakkiya Mandram held at the Nagarathar marriage hall here recently.

Vetri Tamizhar Peravai president Seenu Sellappa presided over the function.

Important role

In his inaugural address, Pudukottai Ilakkiya Peravai president M. Muthu Srinivasan explained the role played by the journal in propagating the cause of literature.

Tiruvarul Peravai president R. Sampath Kumar reviewed all the 50 editions that had hit the stands. The journal was a big hit with lovers of literature of the district.

Honorary president of the Pudkottai Chamber of Commerce R. Xavier released the 50th edition and handed over the first copy to Hemamalini Anbumuthu and Anuradha Srinivasan.

Tirukkural Kazhagam president P. Ramaiah, Kamban Kazhagam president R. Ramaiah, Gnanalaya Library founder P. Krishnamorthy, Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Association district secretary Poovannan and others offered felicitations.

In his acceptance address, Pudukai Thendral editor M. Dharmarajan thanked the people of the district for supporting his literary efforts.

The highlight of the function was a ‘pattimanram.’

The former syndicate member of Madurai Kamaraj University, R. Mohan, was the moderator.
