CBI nabs ASI on graft charge

NEW DELHI: An assistant sub-inspector with the Badarpur police has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on charges of demanding and accepting bribe from a man for not booking him in a case.

The CBI received a complaint from a resident of Badarpur recently alleging that ASI Virender Singh was demanding money to “settle” a case in which he and some other area residents had allegedly beaten up a man accused of committing theft.
