Stalin, paid rich tributes to the signal contribution made by N.P. Ramajayam to the party and also the welfare of The Hindu employees. Unveiling a portrait of Ramajayam at a function organised by the South Chennai District DMK wing at Sathya Studio, Adyar, on Saturday, Mr.Stalin appealed to DMK partymen to rededicate themselves to work tirelessly to complete the unfinished goals and aims of Ramajayam, whose place cannot be filled in the DMK movement and in the newspaper organisation. “Our best homage to the departed former Mylapore DMK MLA would be to work harder to strengthen the party,” Mr.Stalin said and conveyed his condolences to the family members. Mr.Stalin said when Ramajayam was the Mylapore MLA during 1996-2001, several DMK Ministerial colleagues learnt a lot about the Assembly and its proceedings. Managing Director of The Hindu N. Murali said the loss of Ramajayam was not only felt by the DMK but also by The Hindu Newspaper employees and the top management. Ramajayam, Mr. Murali said, did not adopt an aggressive policy and did not mix politics while working in the newspaper. J. Anbazhagan, South Chennai District Secretary of DMK, said a notable quality of Ramajayam was that he never showed any displeasure to the DMK cadres or the employees of The Hindu newspaper. A two-minute silence was observed at the end of the meeting as a mark of respect to the departed leader.
