PIL petition on road safety: State to move apex court

Chennai: The State proposes to move the Supreme Court on Monday to recall orders passed by the apex court directing personal appearance by the Home Secretary in the court on January 28.
A public interest litigation petition was filed in the apex court regarding road safety issues for which the State had filed a detailed counter in March 2005. However, the present advocate had not received notice from the apex court when the hearing came up on November 30. Hence, the State was unable to respond, a press release said.
The State would also be filing a detailed counter immediately if necessary, the release added.
