Need for recycling grey water stressed

CHENNAI: Heavily-populated developing countries would face severe water scarcity in 15 years if conservation measures are not taken now, Madras University Vice-Chancellor S. Ramachandran said here on Friday.
At a workshop on the state of the Cooum , Mr. Ramachandran said the release of sewage into rivers was one of the major causes of surface water pollution.
He stressed the recycling of grey water to meet increasing water needs. University Registrar M. Ranganatham urged residents of Chennai to show greater responsibility in keeping water resources clean.
