Puducherry
PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Sunday demanded special status for the Union Territory. A resolution in this regard was adopted at the 19th regional conference of the CPM Puducherry unit. The party urged the territorial administration to prevail upon the Union government to confer special status for Puducherry. The meeting also decided to organise a series of protest demonstrations to highlight its demands. The first one would be held on December 12 at Puducherry.
