Two Army jawans killed in encounter

JAMMU: Two army jawans were killed in an encounter with militants in Rajouri district, official sources said here on Sunday.

Army troops, who had shot dead a militant at Dalal post near LoC in Sunderbani area of the district on November 28, were conducting searches to track down the fleeing militants in the area since then, they said,

The militants resorted to firing when troops were retrieving the body of the slain militant in the area last night during which Havaldar Nirmal Singh and Sepoy Narinder Chauhan lost their lives. The troops also retaliated, they said, adding reinforcement has been rushed to the area to track down the militants who are believed to have infiltrated into the area from across the border.
