SONEPAT: A breach occurred in the Rajpura canal near Lalehri Khurd, 10 km from here, leading to inundation of the standing wheat crop in 30 acres of land near the village, farmers in the area said on Sunday. The farmers said the standing crops remain submerged under four feet of water and they have approached the district administration for adequate compensation.
They demanded action against any official found guilty of “negligence” in repairing the weak embankments of the canal. - PTI
