Bangalore: Anirudh S. and K. Ravi Shankar from Vidya Niketan Public School, Bangalore, won the Tata Steel Centenary Inter-School Quiz, held at Bal Bhavan here on Sunday. The duo bagged the prize by scoring 56 points. Srikanth V. and Samarth H. from Sri Kumaran Children’s Home came in second with 55 points, while Akshath A. and Karthikeyan M. from Vijaya Composite Pre-University College bagged the third prize with 50 points. The three teams will be called to Jamshedpur to participate in the grand finale. The mega quiz is scheduled to take place later this year in the Steel City, genesis ground of Tata Steel. The winning team won a cash prize of Rs. 2,500, while the members of the team that came in second won Rs. 1,500 each and the team which came in third received Rs. 1,000 each. V.N. Subba Rao, Chairman, Karnataka Media Academy, gave away the prizes to the three teams. The Bangalore section of the Tata Steel Centenary Quiz received an overwhelming response from schoolchildren, with more than 230 teams participating in the preliminary round, of whom only six teams were selected for the final round.
