The idea of Third Front, whoever has conceived it, is not more valid at any other time than it is now. The two major political parties in the State are indulging in wordy duels in the Assembly and are stalling useful issues. It is stating the obvious that these parties are vying with each other to draw the attention of the public for good scores in the forthcoming elections. Sripada Subrahmanyam Visakhapatnam Non-stop buses to railway stationThe APSRTC should run non-stop buses from Srikakulam up to Visakhapatnam Railway Station and provide link to important trains like the Tirumala and the Ratnachal expresses for the convenience of passengers. Paidi Simhachalam Visakhapatnam Navy deserves praiseOn the basis of the results of a painting competition conducted by the Fleet Maintenance section of the Eastern Naval Command in Visakhapatnam, the winners were given away prizes on board the majestic ship ‘Jalashwa’, which floated on the sea with over 75 media persons, some 650 schoolchildren and 15 senior citizens who experienced some rare moments onboard. I was one among them. The exciting naval exercises where INS Jalashwa, Rajput, Karmuk, Khanjar, Nirbhik and a submarine took part made us feel that our Navy can match any formidable foe during war. We are proud of our Navy. K.C. Mohanti Visakhapatnam Accident-prone zoneThe traffic circle where the Rajiv Gandhi Marg, the Kasturba Marg and the CR Reddy Marg meet near the Siripuram HP petrol filling station has turned out to be an accident-prone zone. All kinds of vehicles, including big tourist buses, come along these roads at high speed. On top of this, may vehicles enter the petrol filling station violating the traffic rules. I suggest that the road divider be extended in a suitable manner to narrow down the passage to prevent direct entry of vehicles from the wrong side. Similarly, a right turn could be provided exactly opposite the entry gate of the filling station for vehicles coming from the three main roads. The traffic police also should set up signal lights and book defaulters to prevent accidents. P.V. Nadkarni Visakhapatnam
