Source segregation

Valmiki Nagar residents in association with garbage clearance firm Neel Metal Fanalca (NMF) have started source segregation of household waste. The segregated waste would be collected in three separate bins carried by the garbage collection vehicles, an NMF release said here. The garbage would be divided into biodegradable, recyclable and domestic hazardous waste.

The Kilpauk Resident’s Welfare Association is planning a similar exercise in association with the Chennai Corporation. The association members interacted with Corporation Commissioner Rajesh Lakhoni and other officials at a meeting recently.
