Girl’s body found in farm well

TAMBARAM: The body of a 20-year-old girl was found floating in an isolated farm well in Mudichur near Tambaram on Sunday.
Peerkankaranai police, who are investigating, said that the victim, Saranya, was staying with her mother in Arani, Tiruvannamalai district, and was a second year student of a private arts and science college there.
She was asked to come home by her father and she had arrived on Friday. She is reported to have got into an argument with her parents over a family problem and was reported missing since Friday evening.
On Sunday, residents noticed her body floating in a farm well.
The girl had committed suicide, police said, ruling out foul play.
