University to launch website for job-seekers
Staff Reporter
TIRUCHI: Bharathidasan University will soon launch a website designed to serve as a one stop-point for recruiters and job seekers.
The website will provide information on vacancies in companies, their specific requirements, preparation of curriculum vitae with clarity and precision and bio-data of eligible students in affiliated colleges so that campus recruitments can be facilitated at frequent intervals.
The university will also conduct placement trainings for final year students to provide them the winning edge in campus interviews, Vice-Chancellor M. Ponnavaikko said on Sunday.
The Government is moving in the direction of infusing job orientation into higher educational programmes by tweaking the syllabi from the next academic year in order to make the students employable by the time they complete their studies, he said, urging parents to shed their hesitation in sending their children for out-station jobs. An assessment of places in university’s jurisdictional districts where there is a need for new government colleges is underway, he added.
