The court also directed the State to ensure that the required percentage of reservation for the physically challenged is given.

The State had filed an appeal against the order.

Reservation of posts

When the matter came up, Advocate-General B.V. Acharya submitted that the Government had reserved posts for the physically challenged.

Mr. Acharya said out of the five per cent, the physically challenged had been given 3.7 per cent reservation.

He said the State would ensure that the quota of reservation for the challenged was met.
