Bangalore: A man was found strangled to death in his rented house, near Benimath, in the Cottonpet Police Station limits. The police identified him as Pandit Madan Gopal Sharma. The police said that Sharma, who was originally from Rajasthan, was living in Bangalore for the last eight months. He used to work as a real estate agent and an astrologer. The murder came to light when Ramesh, a prospective client, came to Sharma’s house on Sunday morning. He told the police that he went in through the open door and found that Sharma had been murdered. The police said that Sharma’s neighbours last saw him at around 11.30 p.m. on Saturday when he went inside his house with three men whose identity is yet to be ascertained. The police said that Sharma had been strangled to death. A case has been registered. The Cottonpet police are investigating. Four killedFour persons were killed in road accidents reported in the city on Saturday. Suraj (24), an employee of ITPL, was killed when he was run over by a water tanker on Saturday. The incident occurred when Suraj, a resident of Dwarakanagar, was walking near Chikabanawara. Suraj died on the spot. The Peenya Traffic police have registered a case. A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus ran over two persons near Kadumane Hotel, in the Bidadi Police Station limits on Saturday. The police gave the names of the victims as Rajesh Chowdry (30) and Rakesh (25). They said that the two were heading on a motorcycle to their houses in Bidadi after finishing night shift at a factory nearby when the bus, coming from Mysore, ran over them, killing them on the spot. A case has been registered. In another accident in the early hours of Sunday, a person died on the spot after a car hit him at Kodigehalli, near Sanjeevaninagar, in the Hebbal Traffic Police Station limits. The victim has been identified as Nagaraj (36), a tea shop owner. The police said that the incident occurred when Nagaraj went to open his tea shop at around 5.30 a.m. and accidentally stepped on a dog that was sleeping near the shop’s entrance. He ran when the dog started chasing him and came right in front of the car, which hit him. He was killed on the spot. A case has been registered. Sheep killedA pack of five dogs attacked a herd of sheep and killed them, early on Sunday. The pack of dogs entered a sheep’s pen in Vasanthapura, near Uttarahalli. The Subramanyapura police said that 15 sheep were bitten and killed by the pack of dogs. Sources said that the dogs had attacked two children in the same area earlier. However, the police were not able to confirm it. BurglariesTwo houses in different parts of the city were burgled on Saturday. Bhanumathi, wife of Chandrashekhar, retuned to her flat on the eighth floor of Platinum City Apartments in Yeshwanth-pur, after going to a temple on Saturday to find that her house had been burgled. The police said that gold jewellery and cash had been stolen. The Yeshwanthpur police have registered a case. In the other incident, the house of Dhananjay, an IAS officer, was burgled. The police said that a gang broke into the house, in Kalyan Nagar 2nd Stage, near Hennur Ring Road, through the main door. The incident came to light when Mr. Dhananjay returned home on Saturday. The police said the gang had taken away jewellery worth Rs. 50,000. The Banaswadi police have registered a case. Chain snatchingA youth reportedly snatched two gold chains from a woman, who was walking back home near Bagalagunte, in the Peenya Police Station limits. The police said that the incident occurred at around 8 p.m. on Saturday when Veda Bai, a garment factory worker, was walking back home from the bus stop. The two gold chains, one weighing nine gram and another 11 gram, were worth Rs. 20,000, the police said.
