BANGALORE: It was a day of fun for the budding artists who had gathered at the Airtel Bengalooru Habba Visual Arts Square at Minsk Square on Raj Bhavan Roadon Sunday. While some of them were busy giving shape to their concepts with recycled material, others were engaged in clay modelling. Children aged less than 12 were attempting to sketch Mickey Mouse. The four-day arts square, had artists presenting contemporary and innovative art forms. It was organised in association with Srishti School of Arts, Design and Technology. Nandini Alva, Trustee of Artistes’ Foundation for the Arts (AFFA), said that the arts square was organised to introduce people to various art forms. “We intend to involve children, especially poor children. They can learn more about arts at this programme,” she said. Artists from Srishti School of Arts displayed their art, which was made mainly with gauze, to symbolise their interaction with people. Flowers, grams, salt, eggs, leaves were kept in bowls and placed on white square sheets. Eight-year-old Amith, a student of Class II, Arathi (12), and Pradeep were among the nearly 70 children who had sketched various animals and flowers. The interactive stalls include tiles and mask making.
