Gurpreet wins gold

HYDERABAD: Gurpreet Singh of Punjab Police won the gold in the elimination race for men in the National cycling championships for seniors, juniors and sub-juniors which got underway at the OU Cycling Velodrome here on Monday.

The results: Elimination Race: Men: Final: 1. Gurpreet Singh (Punjab Police), 2. Michael Currian (AP), 3. Gurbaj Singh (Pun). Qualifiers for semifinals: 1km scratch boys: U-17: J. Lohit (AP), Deepak Mehta (Pun), F. Salama (Ker), M. Singh (Pun), R. Naidu, V. Vishnu. 6km scratch race: U-19: R. Agneesh (Ker), R. Shendage (Mah), L.J. Singh (Man), P. Khairnar (AP), A. Mohan (Ker), S. Kumar (Man). 4km scratch race: Men: Shiva Kumar (MP), R.L. Manoj (SSCB), L.J. Singh (RSPB), R.L. Mahesh (AP), M.K. Vithal (SSCB), G. Singh (RSPB).
