Gambhir, Chopra score centuries as Delhi fights back

CHENNAI: Gautam Gambhir and Aakash Chopra scored centuries as Delhi, following on, finished the third day of its fourth round Ranji Trophy Super League cricket match against Himachal Pradesh at Dharamsala on 335 for three.

Gambhir took 199 balls for his 103 (11x4). Chopra remained unbeaten on 146 (288b, 15x4, 1x6). The pair put on 230 runs for the second-wicket after Virender Sehwag was dismissed for 32. At close on Monday, Delhi led by 67 runs.

The scores: Super League: At Dharamsala: Himachal Pradesh 343 vs. Delhi 75 and 335 for three in 94 overs (Gautam Gambhir 103, Aakash Chopra 146 batting).

At Siliguri: Punjab 241 and 64 for one in 27 overs vs. Bengal 513 for six decl. in 135.2 overs (Anustup Majumdar 99, Arindam Das 103, Manoj Tiwary 138, Laxmi Ratan Shukla 74).

At Hyderabad: Hyderabad 240 and 143 for five in 52 overs (Anoop Pai 48 batting) vs. Orissa 298 in 103.3 overs (Niranjan Behera 103, Rashmi Parida 44, Ashwin Yadav four for 75, Pragyan Ojha six for 58).

At Mysore: Rajasthan 393 and 0 for no loss in four overs vs. Karnataka 329 in 128.2 overs (Robin Uthappa 55, C. Raghu 41, Yere Goud 110 not out, Mohammad Aslam four for 91, Shamsher Singh four for 79).

At Mumbai: Maharashtra 451 vs. Mumbai 390 for seven in 128 overs (Ajinkya Rahane 72, Amol Muzumdar 50, Ajit Agarkar 95, Ramesh Powar 102 batting).

At Lucknow: Baroda 334 and 148 in 72.3 overs (Piyush Chawla four for 49, Praveen Gupta five for 35) vs. Uttar Pradesh 209 and 58 for no loss in 28 overs.

At Agartala: Kerala 179 and 275 for seven decl. in 88 overs (Raiphi Gomez 108, Antony Sebastian 64, Sreekumar Nair 53) vs. Tripura 185 and 25 for no loss in nine overs.
