New DC assumes office

SALEM: R. Chinnasamy has assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner (Law and Order) of Police for Salem city on Monday.

He succeeds P. Sakthivelu who has been transferred to Idol Wing in Chennai.

Before this assignment, Mr. Chinnasamy worked in Valliyur and Cuddalore as Deputy Superintendent of Police and got promoted as Additional SP in 2006. He worked in Coimbatore as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Prohibition). He was promoted as SP this October and had been posted in Economics Offences Wing in Chennai before joining Salem city as its DC.

After assuming charge, he told the media that he would take all steps to maintain law and order. Public could contact him at any time on his mobile 94434-04142, he said.
