Belgaum: It was indeed a memorable day for the engineers in Public Works Department in Belgaum. It was on December 4, 1907 that Sir M. Visvesvaraya had his last day as Superintending Engineer in Belgaum before he was transferred. The Public Works Department had organised a function to commemorate the occasion. Visvesvaraya served as Superintending Engineer was here for six months from May 31, 1907 to December 4, 1907. Regional Commissioner Amita Prasad and Visvesvaraya Technological University Vice-Chancellor H.P. Khincha were present.
