‘Rs. 204 cr. for weaker section scholarships’

Government keen on infrastructure in all villages

Villagers urged to send their wards to schools


Sangareddy: Minister for Welfare of Backward Classes M. Mukesh Goud said that the government is spending Rs. 204 crore this year for providing scholarships to students belonging to weaker sections including minorities.

Addressing a public meeting in Metalkunta village of Nyalkal mandal under Narayankhed assembly segment on Tuesday, he said that the state government is spending Rs. 118 crore this year towards tuition fee of weaker section students. Medak alone would receive Rs. 8 crore under both heads.

Girls’ hostel

The Minister also accepted the demand of the locals for a girls’ hostel.

Earlier, Minister for School Education Damodar Rajnarsimha along with Mr. Mukesh Goud and Minister for Cooperation Mohammad Fariduddin inaugurated three Zilla Parishad school buildings in Mirzapur Bangla, Metalkunta and Nyalkal built at a cost of Rs. 1.02 crore. Mr. Rajnarsimha said that the government is keen on providing infrastructure in all the villages in the State. He called upon the villagers to send their wards to the school as no eligible child should be outside the school on any given day. Mohammad Fariduddin , Zilla Parishad Chairman M. Balaiah and DEO Laxma Reddy also spoke.
