Insurance cover for Ayyappa devotees
HYDERABAD: Ayyappa devotees can insure their pilgrimage to Sabarmalai with the Oriental Insurance Company offering a special insurance scheme at a premium of just Rs. 22. The insurance covers all modes of transport.
The coverage will be Rs. one lakh for death, amputation of two legs or loss of vision in both the yes in the event of an accident. The same amount will be extended for permanent total disablement due to accident. For loss of vision in one eye, one leg or one hand in an accident, the insurance cover will be Rs. 50,000, according to M.G. Krishnan of Chaitanyapuri Ayyappa Bhakta Samajam.
In a statement here, he said that the scheme would be applicable to for devotees visiting Sabarimalai between Dec. 2007 and Jan. 2008. The premium amount of Rs. 22 should be remitted to the insurance company one week before the proposed date of journey at any branch office of the Oriental Insurance Company Ltd.
