HYDERABAD: Karwan MLA, Afsar Khan, accused the Niloufer doctors of not being committed to the Hippocratic oath. “Their uncalled for strike has taken the lives of ten children not to speak of the agony caused to scores of patients. They have tarnished the noble medical profession by their adamant attitude,” he said. The Majlis legislator, who is in the eye of the storm, squarely blamed the doctors for the present stalemate. He denied that he had abused the doctors, leave alone assault them. “My entry into the hospital and talk with the RMO is captured by TV cameras. If I had attacked the doctors it would have been filmed. Where is the evidence?” Mr. Khan asked. Casual attitudeHe had gone to the hospital on the request of police to sort out the issue. But the doctors refused to reach a compromise and entered into argument. He wondered how the police could book a case against Junaid Khan, who was running from one hospital to another to save his daughter. Mr. Khan charged the doctors with adopting a casual attitude and whiling away their time by cracking jokes with lady doctors. He saw a conspiracy by the Communist parties and BJP to tarnish the Majlis’ image. It was unbecoming of doctors to come out on roads demanding his arrest. He too could take the issue to streets, Mr. Khan warned.
