“Janata Party in talks with BJP”

S. Rajendran

BANGALORE: The Janata Party is in talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party for forging an electoral understanding at the national level as well as in Karnataka, according to Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy.

Dr. Swamy said here on Tuesday that he had held preliminary discussions with BJP president Rajnath Singh. “The Janata Party and the BJP share the same view on a variety of subjects and, therefore, it should not be difficult to finalise a comprehensive understanding. As such, the two parties have an understanding in Tamil Nadu.”

Earlier, he called on the senior BJP leader, B.S.Yeddyurappa. “We had a fruitful discussion. It is unfortunate that the JD(S) pulled down the Yeddyurappa government. I am confident that Mr. Yeddyurappa will serve a full term as Chief Minister.”
