Mumbai: Dilip Vengsarkar, Chairman of the senior national selection committee will attend the meeting in Bangalore on Wednesday to pick the Indian team for the third Test against Pakistan and the four Test series in Australia. Speaking to The Hindu, Vengsarkar said “I have the highest regard for Mr. Sharad Pawar (BCCI President) and he has made some announcements in Delhi today. I will be talking to him again tonight. I will go to Bangalore for the meeting.” Vengsarkar had on Sunday told the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he will attend the meeting only if it withdraws the seven-point guideline to be observed by the selectors and also finds a way out to compensate him for the loss of income from syndicated columns. The BCCI replied to him with a categorical statement that the guideline is a policy of the BCCI, it will not be withdrawn and that it expects him to be present at Bangalore for picking the Indian team. — Special Correspondent
