Killed in accident

A 32-year-old man K. Laxman was killed while his wife Krishnaveni sustained serious injuries when their motorcycle was hit by a Maruthi van near Mysamma temple in Ibrahimpatnam on Tuesday. The couple hailing from Mahbubnagar district was coming to the city to attend a function when the accident occurred, the police said. The injured woman was admitted to a private hospital.

The Narayanaguda police on Tuesday registered a cheating case following a businessman L. Mahesh’s complaint that the gem ‘kanakapushparagam’ he bought for Rs. 21,000 in July last, from a jewellery shop turned out to be a synthetic one.
