Jyothika missed on the sets

Meera Srinivasan

Chennai: With nearly 50 percent of his next film ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ having been shot, actor Suriya has his hands full with projects with directors Murugadas, Selvaraghavan and K.V. Anand.

Back from Berkeley after a month-and-a-half-long shoot, the actor is very happy with the success of ‘Vel’. He attributes it to his daughter Diyah. “It is certainly her luck,” he says.

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon and Suriya come together for ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’, after their earlier smash hit, ‘Kaaka Kaaka’. If someone is missing from the previous winning combination, it is actor Jyothika. “Oh, yes. We are all missing her on the sets.” Would that mean the bubbly actor would get back to the industry when Diyah is a little older? “Well, she may. It will be Jo’s decision entirely. But, not anytime soon,” says Suriya.

Asked about the time he spends with his little daughter, dad Suriya is all smiles. “I take care of her when Jo goes for her workout or when she is busy. It is simply amazing to be with her.”
