Struggle for power: AIADMK stages a demonstration in front of the office of the Executive Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, in Krishnagiri on Wednesday. –

Krishnagiri: All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIAMDK) staged a demonstration in front of the office of the Executive Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, in protest against the frequent power cuts in the State.

They claimed that the severe power shortage in the State caused heavy loss to the farmers, commercial establishments and industrial units. It had put the power consumers into hardships.

Productivity affected

The party claimed that the power cuts, which extended up to three to four hours a day, had largely affected the productivity of agriculture and industrial units in the area.

It alleged that the State Government had not initiated any concrete steps to sort out the issue. As a result, many of the units had to install generators to continue their production. They demanded the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to provide quality and uninterrupted power supply. Senior party leaders participated in the demonstration.
