ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Secretaries of India and Pakistan are expected to meet early next year to review the fourth round of the composite dialogue process, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday. Spokesman Mohammed Sadiq said, however, that there were no dates yet. “I think we are expecting the talks early next year,” he said, adding that he would not rule out discussions on dates when Pakistan’s caretaker Foreign Minister Inamul Haq visits New Delhi on Friday. Mr. Haq, a former Foreign Secretary, is visiting India to participate in a meeting of the SAARC Foreign Ministers on December 7 and 8. On the sidelines of the SAARC meeting in New Delhi, Mr. Haq and Minister for External Affairs Pranab Mukherjee are expected to have a separate bilateral exchange, the spokesman said at a regular weekly briefing of the Foreign Ministry. In addition, Mr. Haq will also meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when all the Ministers participating in the meeting call on him. The SAARC Ministers are supposed to review implementation of the decisions taken by the 14th SAARC summit in New Delhi in April.
