CHENNAI: Perot Systems Corporation has been selected by the American Academy of Professional Codes (AAPC) to represent in South India. Under the terms of the agreement, Perot System will conduct examinations to provide credentials for Certified Professional Coders, Certified Professional Coders - Hospital and Certified Professional Coders – Payers. AAPC provides certified credentials to medical coders in physician offices, hospitals and outpatient centres. The certification is based on common standards prescribed by the World Health Organisation. Addressing presspersons in connection with the implementation of training facilities at Perot Systems, T. Narasinga Rao, Senior Vice-President, operations, business process solutions, said that all certifications provided a working knowledge to support cleaner claim submission resulting in faster payment and accurate reimbursement. Perot Systems initially provides training for about 200 coders and plans to double the strength shortly and most of them would be retained for inhouse operations, he said.
