Vidya Mandir (Chennai) triumphs

HYDERABAD: Vidya Mandir (Chennai) defeated SICA (Indore) 3-1 in the girls’ under-16 team championship final of the CBSE National inter-school table tennis championship here on Wednesday.

The results (all finals): U-19: PSBB (Chennai) bt Mayo School (Ajmer) 3-2 (Pradeep Chandar bt Sourav Saha 11-9, 10-12, 11-8, 11-3; S. Prasanna lost to Hari Krishna 7-11, 4-11, 11-9, 7-11; Rahul Bharadwaj bt Patrikit Roy 7-11, 11-1, 7-11, 11-7, 11-5; S. Prasanna lost to Sourav Saha 3-11, 11-8, 7-11,6-11; C. Pradeep Chandar bt Hari Krishna 11-7, 11-4, 11-7).

Boys: U-16: Kola Permul HS (Chennai) bt Sachdev HS (Delhi) 3-1 (G. Sathiyan bt Tarun Gupta 11-4, 11-4, 11-6; Abhinav Arasu bt Rajat Kumar 7-11, 6-11, 5-11; S.R. Ananda Kannan bt Utsav Anand 11-6, 11-6, 11-8; G. Sathyan bt Rajat Kumar 11-6, 11-6, 11-6).

Girls: U-19: PSBB (Chennai) bt Manavsthali (Delhi) 3-2 (K. Aishwarya bt Surbhi Goila 11-6, 11-6, 11-5; S. Narasimha Priya lost to Esha Monga 11-8, 8-11, 4-11, 6-11; G.S. Nandita lost to Mehak Jain 11-5, 2-11, 4-11, 11-7, 5-11; K. Aishwarya bt Esha Monga 11-8, 11-9, 11-5; Narasimha Priya bt Surbhi Goyal 11-1, 11-4, 11-5).
