NSM Public School lifts title

VIJAYAWADA: NSM Public School lifted the Nori Sivaramakrishna Memorial Trophy defeating Goutham Public School in the last league match by 102 runs in the KDCA inter-school cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

Gudivada’s Chaitanya and Nalanda Public School took the second and third places respectively.

The scores:

NSM PS 205 in 43 overs (Sai Krishna 63, Sai Kumar three for 30) bt Goutham PS 103 in 21 overs (Rahul Varma five for 11).

Kattamalli posts win

Kattamalli XI defeated Spirit XI by 46 runsin the KDCA ‘B’ division league cricket tournament.

The scores: Kattamalli XI 118 in 27.5 overs (Satya Prasad four for 18, Raju three for 27) bt Spirit XI 72 in 24 overs (Ayub four for 13); Blue Stars 174 in 30.3 overs (Kethan four for 29) bt Modern XI 63 in 16 overs (Hari three for 29); Cricket Association of Nuzvid 176 for nine in 40 overs (Nagababu 53, Sima three for 41, Suresh three for 30) bt Alluri Seetharama Raju XI 140 in 34 overs (Srinu four for 35, Ganesh three for 20).

VRS finishes third

V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College defeated Andhra Loyola College by five runs to finish third in the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate (inter-zonal) cricket tournament here on Wednesday.

The scores:

VRS EC 238 in 39 overs (Srikanth 72, Praveen 41, Shyam Mohan three for 42) bt ALC 233 in 40 overs (Vivek 47, P. Ravi Teja three for 39).

Cricket trials

Trials to select the ANU men’s cricket team will take place at the V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College grounds here from December 7 to 9.

Interested players should report to the organising secretary of VRSEC on December 7 at 9 a.m. with eligibility certificate and identity cards signed by the principals of the concerned colleges.

Jayavardhan sizzles

At Guntur, G. Jayavardhan’s 138 helped South ‘B’ post 361 in 89.1 overs against North ‘A’ in the two-day ACA u-13 inter-zonal cricket tournament.

The scores: South ‘A’ 260 for nine in 90 overs (Dhruva Kumar 72 not out, Surya 62, Dinesh four for 65, Siva Kumar three for 90) vs. North ‘B’ 41 for two in 10 overs; South ‘B’ 361 in 89.1 overs (G. Jayavardhan 138, Ashwin 65, Abdul Haq 49, Abbas Naqvi five for 51) vs. North ‘A.’
