ANANTAPUR: The framing of charges against the 16 accused in the Paritala Ravindra murder case was postponed yet again here on Wednesday, due to absence of a few accused. District and Sessions Judge K. Gaddenna adjourned the case to December 18. Key accused J. Srinivasa Reddy alias Moddu Seenu, K. Ramamohan Reddy, T. Konda Reddy and P. Goverdhan Reddy did not appear in the court citing health reasons. Moddu Seenu and Ramamohan Reddy are lodged in Cherlapalli jail in Hyderabad, while Goverdhan Reddy is lodged in Kadapa jail. Konda Reddy is lodged in district jail near Reddypalli here. On the plea of an accused V. Rekhamaiah to postpone the case for a longer period as a few of the accused had to attend the courts at other places in different cases, the judge postponed the case to December 18 so that there is no clash with the dates of their appearance in other cases. Meanwhile, there was a heavy security arrangement on the district court premises with the police scanning and sanitising the area with dog squad, bomb squad and an explosives detector repeatedly. The court hall was also checked by the teams. Anantapur DSP G.S. Karunakar stated that the security measures were stepped up in the wake of the recent blasts in Uttar Pradesh in courts. They had been following the special measures regularly after the UP blasts and it was a routine exercise on Wednesday too, he said.
